Sandra Bland, you have not been forgotten. People have been saying your name since you left, and they'll continue to say it. In fact, they wrote it over 260,000 times in a petition that was delivered today.
Those looking for justice will continue to fight the good fight for you and others who are victimized by police. Please rest in knowing that your name will live on in this struggle, which, as many are beginning to realize, affects ALL people no matter what their race, religion, sexual orientation or whatever.
These police are out of control. Unfortunately, people of color are currently feeling the brunt of their wrath. However, I've said it before, and I'll say it again, African Americans are the canaries in the coal mine.
Black people are sounding the alarm.
Ignore it at your own peril.
